Vera Orth Scholarship Awards

Individuals who are in the last semester of completing a degree may apply for one of the scholarships offered by the Columbia College of Nursing Alumni Association.

Award 1
- Presented to a Senior on the Columbia College of Nursing Program.
- Scholarship will be awarded during student's last semester.

Award 2
- Presented to a graduate of Columbia Hospital School of Nursing RN Program who will receive a baccalaureate degree in nursing.
- Scholarship will be awarded during student's last semester.

Award 3
- Presented to a graduate of Columbia College of Nursing or Columbia Hospital School of Nursing who will receive a master's degree or doctoral degree in nursing.
- Scholarship will be awarded during student's last semester.

The following two awards go to someone deserving recognition for contributions made to the nursing profession, the College, or the community.

Hall of Fame Award
Recognizes professional and personal excellence in the practice of nursing by a Columbia Nursing Alumnus.

The graduate or another individual may make the nomination for both awards in the form of a two-page letter. The letter should list the personal and professional accomplishments of the alumnus and the reason why the person should be recognized. A current resume should accompany the nomination letter. Please be sure to include the full name of the nominee (including maiden name, if appropriate), address, telephone number, and year of the graduation.

The Alumni Association of the Columbia College of Nursing Program actively serves the College community and alumni past to present, including graduates of Knowlton Hospital and Training School and Columbia Hospital School of Nursing alumni. Each year the Alumni Association plans activities such as the annual Alumni Weekend, bake sales, and other special events. The following Alumni are serving on the CCON Alumni Council:
