Minutes from General SNA Meeting 2-9-07

I)Why join the Student Nurse’s Association :

-Expense Paid Conventions to SNA Members (i.e. via student fundraisers).

-Free Food for SNA Members at general meeting(i.e. Don’t worry, it will not come
out of your SNA memberships dues)

-Discounts on all stethoscopes, scrubs, penlights etc. SNA wants to be your “go to”
resource for all nursing equipment.

-Paid Employment Opportunities & Contacts with local area hospitals.

-Resume building opportunities for Grad School & Employment .

-Mentors and tutors for future nursing classes.

-Prenursing students are allowed to join SNA.

-Guest Speakers from local area hospitals.

II) All members are included in the decisions about SNA:

-Key Theme is that this is “Your SNA Chapter”, the officers exits for the sake of our
Members.

-Novel and creative ideas for the promotion of SNA will always be considered.

-You have a voice in your local SNA Chapter:

III) Promotional Ideas which were brought up at the SNA general meeting:

-Putting SNA on MySpace.com or Facebook.com

-Listing SNA meetings on the Mt. Mary Hoth Email accounts.

-Have SNA be apart of New Student Orientation.

-Collaboration with Vicki Hall so as to promote SNA towards prospective nursing
students.

-Pins, pendants or items of distinction for SNA members.

-Fundraisers (Going for breast cancer walk in May)

-Promoting SNA during Registration in March

-Going to individual classes to promote SNA

-Asking Alumnae of MMC if they joined SNA and if they did what made them join?

-Having the National Student Nurses Association contact members regarding
opportunities and promotions (e.g. Discounts and textbooks & Scholarship
Information).
