We are going to try to hold the sale at the Columbia Campus in the upstairs by the classrooms. DeLeon said she can mand the booth from 11:50-1pm and Jennifer from 1pm-4pm . At Mount Mary , we will try to have the booth outside room 109 by the cyber café. Sharon will be at the booth from 10am-noon. Dave will be there from 11-1 and Sara from 12-1. SNA members need to e-mail Dave what they are baking and estimated selling price.
- February is Heart Month. We are trying to set up a seminar with a heart surgeon guest speaker. Dave also has connections at a heart hospital.
- Fundraisers to raise money. Possibly an alumni dinner. DeLeon will contact the the alumni office to get more information.
- Possible blood drive at both campuses. We need to contact Shanita regarding date for the blood drive.
Promoting SNA:
- Distribute flyers in the dorms by each elevator and stairs. Ashley will talk to resident advisor
- Goal is to unite both campuses, so we need to put up flyers at both CCON and MMC
- Attempt to get our nursing instructors to promote SNA by broadcast e-mails and announcements
Other:
- The NSNA has a program to promote the image of nursing as a profession. We are going to come up with a project that promotes professionalism as well. We will get faculty and the community involved and we need to start generating some ideas.
- Regarding last meeting: Dave spoke with Professor Johnson and we cannot make a profit off donations. So we might take donations and give out free gifts to nursing students that join the SNA, to help promote our organization.
- We might also try to recruit high school students to the field of nursing. We can investigate how full our nursing program is at Mount Mary and try to promote our college.
- We have a new member. Her name is Kristin Gunderman. Her e-mail is Kristin.gunderman@aurora.org and phone # is (414) 828-6649
