  Membership Benefits

Becoming a member of Student Senate is beneficial for a variety of reasons:

  • Having a shoulder to lean on and making lifelong friendships
  • A resource for answers to questions; senior students can help answer questions about labs, ATI, etc.
  • A place to voice your concerns so they can be addressed in an appropriate and professional way
  • An opportunity to give back to the community through volunteer opportunities.

Student Senate is also working to set up resume development and interview workshops, as well as shadowing opportunities for those students who are interested. Student Senate representatives are also on faculty committees as a voice for the students. Finally, participating in an organization such as Student Senate shows potential employers that you CARE about where you are and what you're doing, something that looks great on a resume.

Additionally, Student Senate also schedules fun activities throughout the year for members including:

  • Brewers game outings > free tickets for CCON students, discounted tickets for guests. LOTS OF FUN!
  • Beginning of the semester meeting with free food!
  • Bake sales in front of the Terrace Room cafe next to the cafeteria on the Columbia Hospital campus to raise money for more fun stuff
