Sigma Theta Tau is the official honor society of nursing. It is comprised of chapters that are located on more than 500 college and university campuses in the United States and countries throughout the world. Individual membership is by invitation to baccalaureate and graduate nursing students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship and to nurse leaders exhibiting exceptional achievements in nursing. The Columbia College of Nursing - Mount Mary College Nursing Program celebrated initiation into Sigma Theta Tau in March of 2006. We are proud to announce the successful chartering of our new chapter, Tau Sigma. The chapter was supported by 36 transferring and/or dual members. During the chartering ceremony, 15 new members from the Columbia College of Nursing 2006 graduating class and nurse leaders from the community were inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International.
