Student Services

The Office of Student Services serves as an excellent resource for all of Columbia's Students.  We can assist with housing needs, questions regarding health records, purchases from the bookstore, security needs such as ID badges, student life activities, student special events such as pinning and commencement and many other services.  If we can not help, we can point you in the right direction.

Columbia College of Nursing students have access to services at both the Columbia Campus and the Mount Mary Campus. Services include:

Health: For students on the Columbia Campus, physician services are available to full time junior and senior nursing students. There is no charge to the student for the office visit. Other charges for lab tests, prescriptions, x-rays etc. are the students’ financial responsibility. The Health Center at Mount Mary College is also available to students for healthcare needs.

Student Organizations

Student Senate

Get involved!  There are a variety of opportunities for you to get involved at Columbia!  Students can be elected to serve on the Columbia College of Nursing Student Senate.  Each spring the classes elect class representatives to serve on Student Senate.  These officers, along with a central executive board make up this governing body.  Student Senate makes recommendations to administration, provides student representation on various College-wide committees, and offers a variety of social and educational programs for the student body.  Student Senate has provided such events as ice skating at the Petit Center, Admirals Games, Comedy Sportz, annual winter and spring banquets at premiere hotels in the Milwaukee area, bake sales at Columbia Hospital and a fun-filled end of the year cookout in the college courtyard.  The Student Senate is also regularly involved in service projects such as volunteering monthly at the Hope House, holding food, clothing and hygiene drives, and participating in local area walks/runs.

Student Nurses Association

The College maintains a very active chapter of the Student Nurses Association.  The Columbia-Mount Mary Student Nurses Association (CMMSNA) is regularly involved in service projects throughout the area.  Past activities have included participation in the TV Fox 6 Holiday Toy Chest, assisting with battered women's shelter, and participating in local fundraising runs/walks.  CMMSNA sells clipboards, stethoscopes, and T-shirts to help support it's activities and promote the name of Columbia College of Nursing.  CMMSNA recently began a "Buddy Program" that pairs up junior and senior students with freshman and sophomore nursing students to serve as mentors.  Socially, the CMMSNA offers pizza parties and picnics, and has attended Wisconsin Student Nurses Association events in the state.

Sigma Theta Tau International, the official Honor Society of NursingThe College had the honor of becoming a chartered chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International, one of the largest and most prestigious nursing organizations in the world. Chapter chartering entails a rigorous approval process by the international organization, including a comprehensive self-study report and site visit. The culmination occurred March 31, 2006 when the members were inducted and the Tau Sigma Chapter received its charter.
