The Columbia College of Nursing facility offers students a comfortable and well-appointed base for their junior and senior years of study. It contains modern classrooms with interactive technology, faculty and administrative offices, plus meeting and study rooms. The Helene Fuld Learning Resource Center contains both IBM and Macintosh computers, each with access to the Internet. The lab contains several color and laser printers and a document scanner for student use. CCON students are supplied a personal email address and network account their Junior year. Students can communicate with professors and each other through e-mail and many submit papers and assignments electronically. The Ellen Bacon Library contains more than 8000 professional volumes and 250 periodicals, most of which are nursing and healthcare related. The College's collection detailing the history of nursing is one of the most comprehensive of its kind in the state. From the library, students may access a variety of research databases, including CINAHL (Cumulative Index of Nursing and Allied Health Literature). These databases, some of which are available on CD-ROM, place an extensive array of resources at their fingertips. Students can also search for library holdings online.
The Campus Center , located in the basement, is available to all students and has a large screen TV with VCR, pool table, dart board, piano, fitness room, and a kitchenette with microwave ovens and a refrigerator. Laundry facilities are also available for residents. The Columbia Bookstore is also located on the lower level of the College.
