In August, 1973, Mrs.
Helen Howard became Director of Columbia Hospital School of Nursing.
She was graduated from Milwaukee (Lutheran) Hospital in 1956 and
received the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1968 from
the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Masters degree in Adult
Education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1972. From
1971-1973 she held the title of Associate Director. During that
time she was responsible for curriculum and student government.
In 1979, Mrs. Howard was appointed to the new position of Vice-President
of Columbia Hospital. She retained the title of Director, School
of Nursing until she left in 1981.
