In August, 1977, Mrs.
Marian Snyder became Assistant Director of Columbia Hospital School
of Nursing. She graduated from the University of Connecticut in
1964 with a Bachelor Degree in Nursing. In 1977 she received a Masters
Degree in Nursing from the University of Kentucky and her doctorate
in Educational Administration from Marquette University in 1988.
Her experience includes three years of staff nursing; three years
in the United States Air Force Nurse Corps; and ten years as an
instructor at Columbia Hospital School of Nursing and Norton School
of Nursing, Louisville, Kentucky.
She assumed the role of Director/VP of the School of Nursing in
1981 and became Dean and CEO of the College when the school was
separately incorporated in 1984. She continued as the Dean and CEO
until her retirement in December, 2001.
