The unique upper division curriculum at Columbia College of Nursing provides students with multiple options to earn a degree in nursing. Students complete general education requirements at select two-and-four year institutions. Applying to Columbia College of Nursing 

Spring Application Deadline: October 1st

Fall Application Deadline: March 1st

Admission Requirements

To be considered for admission to Columbia College of Nursing, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. A Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.80 or greater on a 4.0 scale. Cumulative GPA is calculated on all academic coursework within the last seven (7) years.

2. Satisfactory completion (grade of C or better) or be in the process of completing the following 62 credits of prerequisite/essential and support courses or their equivalents:

Completed within the last 7 years (at the time of application):
  •  Human Anatomy and Physiology I & II
  •  Introductory Psychology
  •  General Chemistry
  •  Developmental Psychology
  •  Organic and/or Bio Chemistry
  •  Introductory Sociology OR Cultural Anthropology
  •  Microbiology
Completed within the last 10 years (at the time of application):
  • English/College Level Composition
  • Interpersonal Communication
  • English Literature
  • History
  • Fine Arts
  • Ethics/Philosophy

  • College Algebra
  • Electives (as needed)

*Please note pre-requisite essential courses may be in progress at the time of application; however, documentation of successful completion (transcripts) must be provided prior to starting nursing courses.

3. Completion of the HESI - A2 admission examination. Score of 80% or above is required

4. Ability to meet the Technical Standards for Admission to Progression in the Nursing Program.
