Student Health Insurance

In this Section

All Columbia College of Nursing (CCON) students are required to carry health insurance. Students will be automatically enrolled in the student health insurance plan sponsored by CCON, unless you are able to provide proof of valid coverage by completing the Health Insurance Verification form.

Students who do not complete the Health Insurance Verification Form by August 1, 2013 will be automatically enrolled in the College sponsored student health insurance plan at the premium of $609 (Fall 2013) & $843 (Spring 2014). Please note, after August 1, 2013, this premium will not be removed from your account, unless you complete the Health Insurance Verification Form and have not utilized the student health insurance benefits.

Columbia College of Nursing has partnered with WPS Insurance to provide a plan that:

  • Costs only $609 for coverage from August 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013

  • Costs only $843 for coverage from January 1, 2014 to July 31, 2014

  • Offers insurance to spouses and dependent children (complete the WPS enrollment form for this addition)

  • Includes an option to purchase additional months of coverage after graduation.

  • Offers customer service support. WPS (800) 221-5573

Please view the benefit brochure for more plan details.

If you are covered under another insurance policy, please note that many insurance and HMO plans do not provide coverage outside of the home area. Review your policy carefully before waiving the College sponsored plan.

Your health and well-being is very important to us. Should you have any questions regarding coverage or benefits, please contact WPS at (800) 221-5573. Also, please feel free to contact Christina Italiano at (414) 326-2306 or via email at christina.italiano@ccon.edu with any general enrollment or waiver questions.
