Sigma Theta Tau International
What is Sigma Theta Tau International?
Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) is the official honor society of nursing. It has chapters in over 500 colleges and universities in the United States and throughout the world. STTI serves over 130,000 members in more than 85 countries.
STTI and Columbia College of Nursing
The Columbia College of Nursing chapter of STTI, Tau Sigma, began in 2006. The chapter was expanded in 2013 through a partnership with the Ruth S. Coleman College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Cardinal Stritch University. The combined chapter, Tau Sigma-at-Large, broadened opportunities for more students, faculty, and nurse leaders to participate in chapter activities and represent the profession of nursing.
Qualifications for Membership
Individual membership is by invitation only, to baccalaureate and graduate nursing students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship. Nurse leaders exhibiting exceptional achievements in nursing may also be invited.
